Angry goons on Monday evening raided Pastor Paul Mackenzie's Good News International church in the Furunzi area of Malindi and destroyed properties.

By the time of going to the press, the wall of the Good News International church had been brought down.

The irate mob also destroyed banana and coconut plantations at the farm.

Mackenzie's mother and security guard stay inside the church which is also the home of the pastor.

Police arrived at the scene and lobbed teargas to disperse the angry mob.

Tension remains high in the area.
