He asked former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga to follow their fathers' footsteps by acting as true statesmen after their fight for independence.

"It's embarrassing that these two leaders instead of emulating their fathers stand in developing the country they are busy inciting Kenyans," he said while speaking in Bungoma town at the weekend.

Wanyonyi further accused the handshake brothers of what he termed as leading a revolt against a legitimately elected government.

He said Azimio demonstrations are aimed at discrediting the Kenya Kwanza government and rendering it incapable of delivering on its mandate.

The MP urged Ruto to ignore the demos and instead focus on delivering his pledges to Kenyans.

Wanyonyi asked Bungoma residents and the entire Western Kenya region to shun the Azimio protests and give Ruto ample time to turn around the economy.

The Ford Kenya MP pledged to support National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and other elected leaders from Western region to mobilise the entire region to rally behind Ruto's development agenda.
