Kenya Power names Joseph Siror new CEO

Board expressed confidence in him saying he is highly qualified.

Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror He was appointed as the Kenya Power CEO on May 2,2023.

The Kenya Power Board of Directors has appointed Joseph Siror as the company's Managing Director and CEO.

Siror takes over from Geoffrey Muli, who held the position since May 2022.

Prior to his appointment, Siror was the General Manager in charge of Technical Services at the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO).

 

The Board expressed confidence in Siror, saying he is highly qualified and has earned respect in the field. 

"The Board looks forward to working with him in meeting the Company's corporate goals. The Board takes this opportunity to congratulate him on his appointment," it said. 

Siror has an experience spanning over 30 years in diverse business portfolios.

This ranges from telecommunications, income tax and customs, manufacturing, information communication and technology and energy transmission.

He holds a PhD in Engineering majoring in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) from Shanghai Jiaotong University (China).

Siror also has an MBA degree and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of London.

He also has a pre-Kenya School of Law certificate from Riara University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Radiation Protection from the UoN.

The new Kenya Power boss is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).

He is also a Corporate Member of the Institute of Engineers in Kenya (IEK).

The Board lauded Muli and Rosemary Oduor, both who served in an acting capacity from April 2021 to May 2022.

It said they remain key to the Company's transition strategy.
