Duale first spoke about the book in November 2022 during an interview with a local TV channel.

He said he wrote the book in two years after he was removed as the Majority Leader in the 12th Parliament.

The book, he said, will address politics of deceit and the 'controversial' 10-year tenure of the Jubilee government.

Duale served as the first leader of the Majority Party in the 11th and 12th parliaments, until June 2020 when he was replaced with former Kipipiri MP, Amos Kimunya.
