The Kenya Kwanza administration removed Eldas MP Adan Keynan from the bipartisan team because they were visitors in the country and wanted to avoid embarrassment, Raila Odinga has said.
Speaking while addressing the media, Raila said Keynan's removal was because the government did not want another round of demonstrations before their visitors.
"We know the real reason they removed Keynan is because they were expecting visitors in town, and did not want our planned demonstrations to go on," he said.
A day before the planned Azimio demos, National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichungw'ah and his Senate counterpart Aaron Cheruiyot made the announcement of Keynan's removal.
Saku MP Ali Rasso Dido was appointed to replace Keynan in the Kenya Kwanza team.
Raila has also threatened to return his supporters to the streets if Kenya Kwanza fails to show seriousness in the talks by Wednesday.
He said they had given their opponents the benefit of the doubt and accepted to return to the negotiating table but since then, there has been no iota of goodwill.
Raila said there are clear signs that Kenya Kwanza plans to stonewall the talks through excuses that have resulted in numerous postponements.
