Bishop David Oginde has pledged to build on the efforts and successes of his predecessors at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Speaking on Tuesday during his swearing in as the EACC chairperson at the Supreme Court, Oginde vowed to provide leadership in formulating effective anti-corruption strategies.
He said he will have close collaboration with all actors in the justice sector, working with State and Non-state organs and involving the public in the promotion of ethics and the fight against corruption.
"These methods are aimed at promoting ethics, integrity and good government."
The Bishop acknowledged that during the former EACC chair Archbishop Eliud Wabukala's tenure, the anti-graft body achieved stability and many assets were recovered.
To effectively fight corruption, Oginde said the body will seek to prioritise methods including evaluating the current efforts to inform future interventions.
It will also work towards addressing the root causes of corruption and forge a strategic partnerships for a holistic approach.
To achieve the measures, he said the EACC will invite institutional support to ensure adequate capacity to fight corruption.
"I will be seeking support in strengthening of the legal framework for the effective fight against corruption and recovery of corruptly acquired assets," Oginde added.
Further, EACC will ensure that corruption and unethical conduct is prevented in the public and private sector institutions by ensuring that effective measures are applied.
It will also hold nationwide anti-corruption campaigns to enlist the support of all Kenyan to reduce the incidences of corruption.
Oginde expressed hope that Kenyans will work together to end corruption.
"In conclusion, I recognize the high expectations placed on the Commission in curbing corruption and the promotion of good governance, ethics and integrity.
"I believe we are equal to the task and with God’s guidance, the right working environment and our collaborative efforts, I envision an integrity-driven Kenyan society," he said.
