Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has been advised on how he can solve the ongoing wrangles in the Jubilee Party.
Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu on Wednesday said Uhuru should act as a mediator.
"Uhuru should seat far and call both (Jeremiah)Kioni and (Kanini)Kega without taking sides and hear them out," he said.
Ngunjiri said that Uhuru in his capacity as the party leader should listen to the two factions and their suggestions for the future of Jubilee.
"He (Uhuru) should listen from both sides and make a decision for the party. The way forward must be in the best interest of the party," he said.
The former MP explained the future of Jubilee should not be determined by personal issues as general elections will be in four years and the party should prepare for it.
"Many people are saying the party is dying but it is up to Jubilee members to determine to decide. There should be a democracy," Ngunjiri added.
Leadership wrangles have rocked the former ruling party since early this year.
In February, at least 32 Jubilee MPs met with President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua at State House.
The Jubilee legislators pledged to work and support President Ruto's led government.
This was despite Jubilee being a member of the Azimio la Umoja One coalition which is led by opposition chief Raila Odinga.
What followed next was a purported ouster of Jubilee secretary-general Jeremiah Kioni, by a faction of members led by EALA MP Kanini Kega.
The two sides have since engaged in power wrangles.
In a notice dated April 4, Uhuru summoned Jubilee delegates for a special NDC on May 22 at the Kenya International Convention Centre which has been canceled by Kega.
