Former Bomet governor Isaac Rutto has reminisced a past public spat with Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale saying the latter's new book is a dedication to their mothers.

"Hiki kitabu Hon Duale ni cha mama yako na yangu pia (this book Hon Duale is for your mother and mine too," he said in jest.

The former governor spoke at Serena Hotel when Duale unveiled his highly publicised book 'For The Record'.

Duale had during a rally in Narok in 2015 blasted Rutto over his attacks on government officials over delays in disbursement of funds to counties.

Duale told Rutto then: "You cannot on one hand tell us to give counties more resources while on the other hand you don't want us to hold you to account, hii pesa si ya mama yako bwana (this money does not belong to your mother)."

Rutto termed Duale as his great old friend despite the public spat that depicted them as sworn enemies.

"We have worked with Duale for many years and one of the reasons why he was sacked is because he had a great relationship with some of us, Duale was a victim,' he said.

Rutto said Duale speaks his mind even if he is not in agreement with anyone.

"I hope you will continue being forthright, it is good to say that which you believe in."
