Leaders laud Duale over unmatched 'loyalty"

They said he steered government agenda in Parliament and ensured no bills were lost.

Senior government and national leaders have heaped praise on Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale as a quintessential politician with unmatched loyalty.

The leaders, majority of them members of Parliament, said the CS steered the government agenda in Parliament to ensure that no bills were lost.

National Assembly Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro said Duale was the force that held Jubilee together in Parliament.

"He was smart that when he sensed he had no numbers, he would withdraw a bill to ensure that the government does not lose anything in Parliament," Osoro said.

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire recalled how Duale was ejected from office despite working with zeal to support government agenda.

"One time he told us after we were installed as leaders in Parliament that the government is always right it doesn't matter what," Mbarire said.

The governor said Duale was sacrificed in 2020 parliamentary changes despite his loyalty to then President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"I was sure you were not going to be sacked because of the loyalty you had to the President, but it happened," she said

Saku MP Dado Rasso said the former National Assembly Majority leader is a politician with unmatched loyalty and zeal.

"You have taught us and mentored us for many years, you are a true leader," he said.

The chairperson of the pastoralists parliamentary group said the CS has candidly documented the events that happened in your political career.

The leaders spoke on Thursday evening during the launch of Duale's book 'For The Record' at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi.
