Here are some random background questions to my thoughts on the National Delegates Conference and the future of Jubilee.
Despite Uhuru Kenyatta’s best efforts as President, head of state and Mt Kenya kingpin, the region made it very clear that the future of Jubilee is not Raila Odinga.
Considering that this is the region that was/is supposed to be the Jubilee stronghold, why would Uhuru still insist that we continue with Raila despite this reality, if he really has the best interests of our party at heart?
Raila was the Jubilee presidential candidate in 2022. We lost the election. We are heading to 2027.
Who is the jubilee presidential candidate for that election? Isn’t this what Uhuru Kenyatta should be guiding us to discuss now, rather than keeping us stuck in the past?
It’s quite clear that Uhuru wants to take Jubilee to Raila. It’s suspected but not confirmed that another team within Jubilee wants to take our party to William Ruto.
Now that the last election is over and our obligation to support Raila was paid up, why can’t we have an internal referendum within Jubilee on who to work with between the two or whether to be a third force starting at the counties?
The Azimio pre-election coalition stated what the parties therein would do if they won. There exists no agreement on how to operate as a coalition now that we lost.
Is this the reason Jubilee keeps getting the short end of the stick in all opposition appointments and why should we continue like this?
Why is Uhuru insisting that Jubilee stays in Azimio as we head into 2027 whilst knowing very well that Raila never goes to an election under the same identity/coalition twice?
In 2007, Raila was ODM. In 2013, he was Cord, in 2017 he was Nasa and in 2022 he was Azimio.
In 2027, Raila will not be Azimio.
Why would Uhuru keep Jubilee locked in Azimio when even Raila will leave Azimio?
