More than 190 local and foreign exhibitors are expected to showcase at the Kisumu regional Agricultural Society of Kenya show next month.
The show is scheduled for between July 26 to 30 at Mamboleo showground in Kisumu East subcounty.
President William Ruto, who is the ASK patron, is expected to preside over the official opening of the event but this is subject of confirmation.
Kisumu regional chairman George Ong'udi said exhibitors from Uganda, Tanzania and Ghana have expressed interest.
So far, Ong'udi said that 190 exhibitors have confirmed that they will attend the show.
"We are appealing to showgoers to turnout in large numbers and attend the event to learn from exhibitions in different sectors," he said.
The theme of this year's show is 'promoting climate smart agriculture and trade initiative for sustainable economic growth.'
Before the show kicks off, Ong'udi said they will embark on tree planting which is targeted at increasing forest cover in Kisumu to help mitigate climate change effects.
He said adults will pay Sh250 and children Sh200 for the perimeter charges. Under the special party charges, adults will pay Sh200 while children will pay Sh150.
The chairman assured showgoers and exhibitors of maximum security during the show. The show was last held in 2019 due to Covid-19.
In 2022, Kisumu hosted Africities Summit which attracted more than 3,000 delegates across the world.
