A man who allegedly shot a woman before robbing her of her phone has been charged with robbery with violence.

Fredrick Odhiambo Anyango Alias Oredo was charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Monica Maroro where he denied the charges.

According to the charge sheet, the accused person robbed Lorna Murithi Waweira and Bilha Wairimu Kariuki of a mobile phone valued at Sh 14, 000.

He is alleged to have thereafter shot Lorna in the head leaving her in critical condition.

The court heard that the accused person committed the offence on February 21 at Silanga slum in Lang'ata Sub-County within Nairobi County.

He allegedly committed the offence alongside others, not before the court.

In the other court, an accused person is said to have robbed Janet Mbuli Makau of a mobile phone valued at Sh55,000 contrary to the law.

He is said to have committed the offence on April 20, at the White House area in Lang'ata Sub-county within Nairobi County.

The court heard that the accused person also committed the offence with others, not before the court.

The accused person was released on a Sh1 million bond with the surety of the same amount.

The case will be mentioned on June 8 for further directions.
