Man accused of being behind spate of crimes in City arraigned

He has since denied all the charges and is out on a Sh1 million bond

A man who was charged with shooting a woman and robbing her of her phone was again arraigned on Wednesday to face multiple robbery charges within Nairobi.

The detectives attached to the DCI Lang'ata area told the court that Fredrick Odhiambo is being investigated for more charges of the same calibre.

The accused person is said to have jointly with others not in court robbed a woman of her Tecno Spark 3 mobile phone valued at Sh18,000 and some Sh50,000.

He is accused of having wounded another person who was close to the woman.

Police said that he committed the offence at the White House area in Lang'ata within Nairobi County.

The court heard that the accused person was armed with a panga during the incident.

Last week, he was charged with allegedly shooting a woman before robbing her of her phone contrary to the penal code.

Odhiambo alias Oredo was charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Monica Maroro where he denied the charges.

According to the charge sheet, the accused person robbed two women of a mobile phone valued at Sh 14,000.

He allegedly shot one woman in the head, leaving her in critical condition.

The court heard that the accused person committed the offence on February 21 at Silanga slum in Lang'ata Sub-County within Nairobi County.

He has since denied all the charges and is out on a Sh1 million bond with the surety of the same amount.

The cases will be mentioned on June 8 for further directions.
