Makueni Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili has announced that ECDE schools within Makueni County will have a school feeding programme.
Mulili said Makueni administration is keen on improving Early Childhood Education (ECDE) facilities to modern ones in the coming Financial Year budget.
"Together with Governor Mutula Kilozo, we have started implementing community projects so as to ease and bring services closer to the wananchi," Mulili said.
She was speaking on Friday at ACK Wote Township Primary School during the school's prize giving day ceremony.
She commended the school for an exemplary performance of 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KEPSEA) national exams.
"Our children are our heritage and the fact that this school is consistently known for very good performance over the years, it's a statement of visionary leadership " Mulili said.
The deputy governor commended the stellar performance the county registered in 2022 exams of 365.63 min score and transitioned almost 100 per cent of all pupils to high schools.
Mulili encouraged parents to take up responsibilities of shaping their children's character as well as bonding with them once they are at home for holidays.
Eighteen candidates managed to score 400 marks with 135 pupils scoring between 350 and 399. Foughty eight others got between 300 and 349 marks.
Present during the prize giving ceremony was his Emeritus ACK Bishop Kanuku.
