Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has criticized the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula for urging MPs to support the 2023 Finance Bill.

In a tweet on Sunday, Ledama argued that Wetangula had no right to campaign for the Bill.

“So Wetangula is now the spokesperson of Kenya Kwanza in Parliament and in public events? Stop being petty my friend, you have no business talking about the finance bill which you have no vote," Ledama said.

"Wewe kula na Unyamaze!"

This comes after Wetangula condemned the opposers of the Finance Bill for misleading Kenyans.

He said Members of Parliament who are against the Bill should cast their votes in Parliament before urging their supporters to oppose it.

"It is your responsibility as a leader to interrogate the bill then file an amendment if you wish, discuss with your colleagues who will support you then come in parliament and remove that which you see is wrong," Wetangula said.

He urged them to stop misleading their followers on the bill yet when fronted to table their proposals before the House they go mute.

"Every financial year there are two things that must go to parliament Finance Bill and the appropriation bill. There is no need to come and tell mama mboga to oppose the bill and when we are in parliament you are not speaking," Wetangula said.

Wetangula was speaking during an education support funds drive at Lwandeti DEB Secondary School, Kakamega County on Saturday.
