Kisumu Central Member of Parliament Joshua Oron weighed in on the Finance Bill 2023 assented to by President William Ruto.

The MP said that the church should partner with Azimio to stand with the people.

Speaking to the media on Monday, he said that both Azimio and the church should stand for the truth.

"We encourage the church to stand with the people and partner with Azimio to seek justice and truth," Oron said.

Oron said that there was no justification for doubling the fuel levy which will increase the cost of things.

"Kenyan economy is fuel-driven, when the fuel prices go up, the mama mboga will have problems with transportation," he said.

He went on to say that the Kenya Kwanza MPs who are the majority in parliament had their way while the Azimio had their say concerning the Finance Bill.

"We had our say while the so-called majority had their way but for us, it's not over until we say it's over," Oron said.

Last week Azimio leader Raila Odinga called supporters for a consultation meeting on Tuesday to decide the next course of action following the passage of the controversial Finance Bill 2023.

The opposition said the passage of the Bill signals the era of leadership and must be resisted.
