Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly Robert Alai has cautioned embattled Siaya deputy governor William Oduol that being saved by the Senate from impeachment was not a win.
According to the MCA, Oduol needs to learn politics fast because he does not know what will hit him next.
He insisted that Kenyan politics can be rough and one must learn what to do and when, and how to do it to survive.
"William Oduol must learn politics fast. Otherwise, he might think he won but he doesn’t know what will hit him next. Kenyan politics is rough. Know how to pull your strings. That was not a win. Watch out Oduol!" Alai said in a tweet.
His remarks came after the Senate in a special sitting on Monday voted against Oduol's impeachment.
President William Ruto’s troops in the Senate on Monday evening saved Oduol in a dramatic vote that turned political.
The Kenya Kwanza senators capitalised on their numbers to reject the report of the ad hoc committee that had endorsed his ouster.
The 11-member panel chaired by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator William Kisang had found him guilty of gross violation of the Constitution; and abuse of office and gross misconduct.
Twenty-seven Kenya Kwanza lawmakers voted against each of the two charges Oduol faced, beating the 16 Azimio senators who had voted to uphold the charges.
In its report, which was signed by all the members, the panel stated that the MCAs, who pressed the charges against Oduol, demonstrated that the deputy governor indeed attempted to interfere with a procurement process.
Oduol, the committee established, instructed the director of supply chain management to change the tender categorisation on the procurement for the supply and delivery of certified seeds and fertiliser.
The committee also found the deputy governor guilty of misleading the public by giving false information.
