National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi has fired a warning to Azimio MPs who visit State House in the name of seeking developments for their constituencies.

The legislator asked MPs to reinforce National Government Constituencies Development Fund for developing constituencies.

While speaking on Thursday in Parliament, Wandayi said development is not found in the State House but rather by the utilisation of NG-CDF.

"This idea of some MPs developing habits of disturbing the State House for developments, I don't know where it is coming from yet development you can count and touch is that which comes from the utilisation of NG-CDF funds," he said.

"So stop disturbing State House with endless visits, especially MPs from my side of the political divide. Stop wasting your time queuing at State House looking for developments and yet you have an opportunity to develop your constituencies using NG-CDF funds that are managed by your own committees."

The legislator added that some of the MPs only depend on the funds to provide services to Kenyans.

This is even as some Azimio MPs have shifted allegiance after visiting State House in the name of 'seeking development'.

Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o is among Azimio MPs who were castigated after visiting State House.

The meeting was seen as part of President William Ruto's strategy to counter the opposition chief.

The MPs were blasted for meeting Ruto and accused of allegedly violating the party's constitution.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has since cautioned Azimio MPs for what he termed as 'political prostitution'.
