A Shanzu Magistrate Court is on Monday expected to deliver its ruling on a case in which the State wants to continue holding cult leader Paul Mackenzie, his wife Rhoda Maweu and 28 other co-accused persons for another 60 days.
The suspects have already spent more than two months behind bars. The ruling, which was to be delivered last week, was pushed to this week. Mackenzie and his associates are blamed for the deaths of over 338 individuals at Shakahola forest in Kilifi County.
76 police occurrence books digitised in modernisation drive
The government has digitised the police Occurrence Book (OB) as part of its transition to incorporate over 5,000 services online.
So far, 76 police stations in and around Nairobi have had their OBs digitised in the plans.
Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Noor Gabow told President William Ruto they plan to roll out the exercise to other parts of the country to ease reporting and recording of crimes and do away with manipulation cases at police stations
Police identify bodies of couple found murdered in Kamulu
Mystery surrounds an incident in which a Nigerian man and his Kenyan girlfriend were found murdered and their bodies badly burnt in Kamulu area, Nairobi.
The two have been identified as Kamulu socialite Rachael Kanini "Kaniss" and her Nigerian lover Olujobi Gbenga alias Omodollar.
But the motive of their macabre murder is yet to be established, police said.
Ruto CASs to know fate
A three-judge bench will this morning render its decision in a case challenging the creation of an additional twenty-seven positions in the office of the Chief Administrative Secretary.
The CASs, through their various legal representatives, have maintained that their appointment was lawful.
Kajiado residents petition Senate over rampant livestock theft
Kajiado residents have petitioned the Senate to intervene over the rampant livestock theft in the county.
In a petition presented to the House by Senator Samuel Seki, residents of Kajiado East and Kajiado West subcounties decried escalating incidents of livestock theft saying it has brought about emotional distress and insecurity.
They said the community has lost over 5,000 goats and sheep alone over six months.
Family appeals to State to help them trace lost kin
The 26-year-old boda boda operator from Pandanguo village in Witu Division, Lamu West was abducted by unknown men in a Probox vehicle while riding his motorbike from Witu town to his home in Pandanguo.
He was with a pillion passenger, an uncle. He was whisked away to an unknown place by the men on Friday and his whereabouts have remained unknown.
