Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has called on ODM rebels to resign from the party.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Senator noted that resigning was the right thing to do, now that they have gone to bed with their opponents.

"I wish they would just man up and resign from their positions and seek the people's mandate through their newfound concubine," Ledama stated.

The ODM Senator further called out the rebels for their frequent visits to the State House.

"These constant State House visits by some ODM legislators who signed a covenant with the people through the party are so grotesque," Ledama added.

His statement comes a day after President William Ruto hosted some ODM MPs at the State House.

They include Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o, Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Caroli Omondi (Suba South ), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Paul Abuor (Rongo) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.

The meeting was also attended by ICT CS Eliud Owalo and Interior PS Raymond Omollo.

Ruto reiterated that the government will work with all leaders, saying it is in accordance with the Constitution and "what all Kenyans deserve".

"We will work with leaders across the country without reservation or discrimination, regardless of political affiliation, to deliver services to the people," he said.

The dissenting ODM members have reaffirmed their pledge to work with President Ruto.

Jalang'o said they meant it when they pledged to support Ruto.

"Our resolve to work with HE William Ruto was not a gimmick! We will support the president, and we must support the president," he said.

The ODM leaders first met with Ruto for strategic calls in February, in what was seen as a move by the President to counter opposition chief Raila Odinga's 'anti-Ruto' movement.

Commenting on the visit then, Ruto said there was a need for leaders to work together for the sake of their voters.

They received harsh criticism from other Azimio leaders including Raila.
