Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has vowed that the Kenya Kwanza government will not spare anyone who brings disorder to the country.

Speaking on Tuesday, the DP said that the police are mandated to arrest offenders who disrupt peace and break the law.

"You will be arrested. No one will be allowed to disrupt peace regardless of your status," Gachagua said.

"Anyone who will go against the law on Wednesday will be dealt with. Regardless of the status," he added.

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga and his supporters will take to the streets on Wednesday to hold anti-President William Ruto protests.

The protests are expected to take place in major parts of the country as Raila has already dispatched key members of the Azimio coalition to the demonstrations at the grassroots level.

Raila decided to devolve the protests across the country.

He also aims at collecting 15 million signatures instead of 10 million.

The  DP called upon the Police to apply the law and deal with anyone who breaks it in accordance with the law.

Gachagua further told off critics who claimed that Interior CS Kithure Kindiki clashed with Police over the opposition clashes.

"People have tried to turn around Kindiki’s statement on demos. I would like to say that those are rumours and would like to say that CS Kindiki will not spare anyone," he added

It has been reported that there is disquiet in a section of government regarding the position taken by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on anti-government protests spearheaded by opposition chief Raila Odinga.

For the first time, Kindiki publicly asked the police to be moderate in crowd control and to desist from using excessive force if the protesters are not breaking any law.

“We ask our police officers to be moderate with crowd control. If the protesters are not armed, let them proceed. If they are not breaking into shops or hurting anyone, let them express themselves,” Kindiki said while attending a Sunday service at Marimanti, Tharaka Nithi.
