On Monday, Kindiki said 40 new mass graves have been discovered in the vast Shakahola forest.

He said the 40 graves which are yet to be exhumed are suspected to be containing multiple bodies.

Kindiki further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to crack down on rogue preachers.

MoH initiates talks with unions to avert looming strike

The Ministry of Health has initiated talks with unions to avert a looming national strike.

Healthcare unions had threatened to rally their members to down their tools from Friday should their grievances remain unresolved.

The nurses, clinicians, dieticians and laboratory technologists had in May given the ministry 60 days to resume the stalled Collective Bargaining Agreements negotiations but had last week said despite the ultimatum expiring they were yet to get feedback on the same.

Guard hacked to death in Kamulu bar attack

Police are investigating an incident in which a night guard was found killed at his place of work in Kamulu, Nairobi.

The guard, Micah Namicaso, was on duty at the premises when he was attacked Saturday night, police said.

Police said the 22-year-old was found with five deep cuts on the head, having been killed during the night.

Court to rule if PS Korir has case to answer in assault charges

A Magistrate will rule on whether Permanent Secretary for Cabinet affairs Julius Korir has a case to answer in a case he is charged with assaulting his estranged wife.

Korir and Evelyn Koech’s marriage is said to have cooled off a few years back, but things took a turn for the worst when claims of assault arose in 2018.

KNEC announces training for KCSE examiners

The Kenya National Examinations Council will conduct a training of examiners for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

In a notice released on Tuesday, the training is set to take place between August 13-19.

KNEC CEO David Njengere said only shortlisted applicants will pay a training fee of Sh10,500.

Meta sets out planned new features for Threads

Thread is looking into adding an alternative home feed, of only posts, in chronological order, from the people each individual user follows, according to Instagram boss Adam Mosseri.

It currently shows a mix of recommended content and posts from those who followed.
