A section of Nyanza leaders have continued to pledge their support to President William Ruto.

The leaders appreciated the President for his commitment to including the Nyanza region in his plans.

Speaking on Saturday, former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero said the region was grateful for the actions Ruto has taken to include the region in his government.

"This is the fourth time you have visited Nyanza. It shows commitment and love on your path," he said.

Kidero further said that the President has fulfilled his commitment to extending his working arm to everyone.

"I remember the last words you said, 'We need to work together and move forward.' Pale uko, ndio tuko (Where you are, is where we will be)," he added.

On his part, Cabinet Secretary for ICT Eliud Owalo said the Nyanza region had for the first time felt a sense of belonging in the government.

"For the first time since independence, we have a government where we (Nyanza) have a sense of belonging," he said.

"We have been in the wilderness for many years but now we see the inclusiveness," Owalo added.

Owalo further thanked the President for appointing one of them to the Interior Docket.

The CS urged the Nyanza residents to avoid tribal politics and embrace changes.

He urged them to support the Kenya Kwanza government in its plan.

"Let's create an enabling environment for Kenya Kwanza government. We have a president who means well for this region. We have done politics built around tribes and individuals and can't do that anymore," Owalo added.

The leaders were speaking at Oriwo Boys High School during the homecoming ceremony of Interior PS Raymond Omollo.

President Ruto is the chief guest at the ceremony.
