Azimio La Umoja Coalition Party has welcomed Kenya Kwanza MPs to join them during demonstrations set to take place this week.

Speaking at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, on Monday, Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo warned Kenya Kwanza MPs not to come with violence or else they will suffer.

“We welcome Kenya Kwanza MPs to hold protests on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If they come with violence and murder, Kenya Kwanza supporters will be among the victims,” Madzayo said.

He noted that Kenya Kwanza MPs have resolved to cooperate with the police to ensure there is no further loss of life and livelihoods.

“We know what this means. It means confirming protesters with members of that killer squad called operation support unit whose brief is to maim, and kill protesters including Azimio leaders,” Madzayo said.

He further went on to say that those threatening the party leader Raila Odinga, will eventually pay.

“In this regard, we take great exception to the continued threats to the life of our leader Honourable Raila Odinga, as propagated by senior leaders of the Kenya Kwanza regime. There will be a price to pay for those threats,” Madzayo said.

He claimed that Kenya Kwanza is the main sponsor of violence during protests adding that MPs from the party should research the history of their leaders.

“We are shocked that Kenya Kwanza is talking about those who orchestrate, plan, and finance violence and occasion mass displacement of civilian populations and businesses deemed to be owned by people from other communities,” Madzayo said.

“That sounds like Kenya Kwanza. The sponsors of the greatest violence and murder and displacements in Kenya's history are in Kenya Kwanza. Kenya Kwanza MPs need to know the history of the leaders of their party.”

Last week, Raila said the demos will be held whether the government issues a permit or not.

"We will have countrywide protests next week on Wednesday whether the government likes it or not," Raila said.
