ASSASSINATION PLOT

Kuria major liability to Ruto rule

In Summary
  • In a society in which the rule of law is held high and people in leadership take their jobs seriously, Kuria would have been sacked or forced to resign long ago.
  • This is a member of cabinet aware that his job is secure.

In a social media post that has gone viral, Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria predicted the assassination of a big name politician who he does not name.

It’s timing is awfully unfortunate given that just last week seven youths were shot and killed by the police during demos against high cost of living.

Kuria's prediction coincides with a planned Azimio demos set for Wednesday.

Kuria, a member of an elite team that runs government, should know better. He must by now know he must tame his tongue when he doesn’t have anything useful to say.

In a society in which the rule of law is held high and people in leadership take their jobs seriously, Kuria would have been sacked or forced to resign long ago. This is a member of cabinet aware that his job is secure.

President William Ruto must come out strongly and condemn his reckless and dangerous storm-petrel.

This kind of hair-brained talk can very easily turn into mayhem when the people he is goading to take action act on his incentive.

Kuria has never occupied such an exalted position. There is no doubt that he is unfit for the level of responsibility the job places on him.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations should summon the minister for details of the assassination plot.

And on his part Kuria must apologies for his mindless ways and step down.

He has surely brought the esteemed office he occupies into disrepute.
