Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama on Wednesday allegedly brandished a gun to wade off protesters in Nakuru.

In a video seen by the Star, Arama who was at the time holding his gun, a pistol, asked the protesters to disperse.

He insisted that he also voted for Azimio leader Raila Odinga but he still lost to President William Ruto.

"Kwani hatukupigia Raila Kura? Si hata mimi nilimpigia akashindwa na William Ruto alafu unakuja kutuambia upuzi hapa," Arama is heard saying in the video.

Arama who was re-elected on an ODM ticket has publicly declared backing for President William Ruto.

On Wednesday morning, police in Nakuru's Shabab area had a hard time trying to contain rowdy youth who had taken to the streets for the anti-government protests.

The youth engaged the police in running battles as officers moved in to quell the situation.

The youth in the Shabab area in Nakuru West had barricaded the roads leading to the Central Business District.

They had further lit bonfires on the roads even as the police tried to reopen the roads to allow traffic to flow freely.
