Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has assured that they have contained the unrest witnessed during Wednesday's demos.

He said the country was back to normalcy, assuring Kenyans of their safety during Friday protests.

He advised all persons to carry on with their daily activities and leave their safety to the security officers. 

He further assured that the security agencies have learnt from the activities of the past demonstrations and will "make sure that law enforcement achieves even better results tomorrow".

"Public and private sector workers, business people, travellers, and everyone is advised to continue with their daily nation-building activities tomorrow and the days ahead, and leave the matter of their safety and security to the National Police Service and other security organs of the Country," he said. 

The CS said those who breached peace in the two days will be brought to justice.

On Wednesday, 304 persons were arrested across the country suspected of breaking the law during the anti-government protests.

Kindiki said they are suspected of committing various crimes including looting, damaging property, arson, robbery with violence, unlawful assembly, preparation to commit a felony and destruction of buildings and infrastructure.

In Nairobi 113 people were arrested, in Eastern the number was 53 while police in Rift Valley arrested 61 people.

Other arrests took place in Nyanza where the number of those nabbed was 47, Coast (20) and in Western (10).

There were no arrests in the Central and North Eastern regions.
