President William Ruto on Friday finalized his Murang's tour by having an evening cup of tea.
The President shared the cup of tea with pupils at Kangari ECDE centre as he launched Murang’a County School Feeding Programme.
The pupils lined up in queues as Ruto himself served them, tea mixed with milk and a banana on the side.
After serving was done, he proceeded to have a seat and take the tea as he interacted with the children.
The President was joined by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, and Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata among other leaders.
Kenya Kwanza government in its first budget of FY 2023-24 allocated Sh5 billion to the School Feeding Programme.
The programme is similar to Nairobi's Johnson Sakaja 'Dishi Na County' last month.
Through the initiative, 17 kitchens will be constructed in various parts of the county, with each kitchen serving between 10 -15 schools in the County.
The kitchens will help ensure 293,019 learners in pre-primary and primary schools in Nairobi City County access meals in their schools.
