United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has insisted that its members shall ensure that there are no protests in Nairobi on Wednesday.
Party Secretary General Cleophas Malala said the party will ensure that properties of Kenyans are protected.
Speaking at a reception ceremony for ex-Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro who defected from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Malala said no properties will be destroyed on Wednesday.
"As a party, we are organising ourselves and I want to assure Kenyans that there will be no protests in Nairobi,'' he said.
The top UDA official said Ongoro will now lead UDA's efforts to consolidate the city under the ruling party ahead of the 2027 polls.
" Your(Ongoro's ) first assignment now will be to ensure that hakuna maandamano in Nairobi on Wednesday," Malala told Ongoro.
Ongoro is a revered political mobiliser in Nairobi who has been very crucial for the ODM support in the Capital City.
"There are people who taught that they could consolidate the city with protests, we have what it takes to ensure we get in control of the city politics so that residents can go around with their activities feeling secure," he Said.
Speaking about Ongoro's political experience, Malala said the politician will be very critical in steering UDA's efforts to sweep key positions in 2027.
"She brings to the party wealthy of experience spanning over a decade as an astute political mobiliser," Malala said.
Malala said Ongoro is joining UDA when the party has heightened mobilisation and recruitment across the country.
"We shall be tapping into your wealth of experience to paint Nairobi yellow with a focus for a clear super majority in the city county Assembly and ensure that we clinch at least 13 MPs in Nairobi,' he said.
