Former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando has said that Azimio leader Raila Odinga should come out with the truth about what is happening in the country.
He was seemingly referring to the olive branch extended to Raila by President William Ruto to have a dialogue.
In a statement on Wednesday, Kabando said that Raila's supporters demand full disclosure from him.
"We who support maandamano against the cost of living crisis Finance Act 2023 demand full disclosure from our leader Raila Odinga on exactly what is happening. His statement about President Samia Suluhu's mediation contradicts what he said last week. We must get it right at the start, or flop," he said.
In an interview with Aljazeera on Wednesday, Raila termed Ruto's invitation as a PR gimmick saying he would not have invited him for the talks via social media if he were serious.
"He knows my address he knows my telephone number and everything. He is basically just playing games. That is like a public relations exercise," Raila said.
Ruto had on Wednesday tweeted:
"My friend Raila Odinga, am off to Tanzania for a human capital meeting to harmonise the expansion of employment opportunities in our continent. I am back tomorrow evening, and as you have always known, am available to meet one on one with you anytime at your convenience".
Raila, however, dismissed the invitation saying Ruto has not demonstrated any seriousness to hold any meaningful dialogue with him.
If he was, Raila said the President would not have failed to meet Tanzania President Suluhu Hassan who had jetted into the country two weeks ago to mediate the talks.
Raila Odinga claimed that Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu came into the country two weeks ago to mediate over talks.
State House has since denied it but Raila reiterated that the visiting President was in Kenya on Ruto’s invitation.
