Thousands of civil servants are to go without their July salaries over what officials termed as a technical hitch.

Internal memos issued in various departments have cited a technical hitch that affected the processing of state payrolls.

The Ministry of Public Service said ongoing upgrades to the new payment system for government salaries had encountered hitches.

The latest data by the World Health Organisation and UNICEF shows that in 2022, 20.5 million children globally missed out on one or more vaccines delivered through routine immunization services, compared to 24.4 million children in 2021.

Sifuna barred from precincts of Parliament

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has been barred from accessing precincts of Parliament, including the offices, committee rooms, lounges and dining halls for three days.

In his communication to the House, Speaker Amason Kingi announced that Sifuna’s suspension shall lapse at midnight on Thursday, July 27.

He was found guilty of being grossly disorderly under Standing Order 122.

Anxiety as appeals court set to rule on Nyaribo's election

The Court of Appeal will on Friday deliver a ruling on a petition challenging Amos Nyaribo's election as Nyamira County Governor.

The High Court had in February upheld Nyaribo's election but the aggrieved petitioner, Dennis Ayiera moved to the Court of Appeal.

After months of marathon hearings and submissions, the three-judge bench will on July 28 deliver its ruling.
