Activist Boniface Mwangi has told President William Ruto to allow his government to have a strong opposition instead of going to bed with them.

Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on JKL show, he told elected leaders including the President to remember their roles and the main reason why Kenyans elected them.

"You are not elected to go and drink tea and mandazi at State House, you are elected not to go to a political rally and kiss the President’s ring. You are elected to go to Parliament and legislate and oversight," Mwangi said.

Addressing the President, the activists noted that Ruto should tell Kenyans where he stands in terms of the law.

"The problem in this country is that the mafia has more power than the Kenyan people. The President needs to tell us where he stands in terms of the law, is he a lawbreaker or is he going to uphold the law?" Mwangi posed.

He noted that If  President Ruto was one who upholds the law, it should reflect down to his cabinet.

Mwangi poked holes in the President's leadership noting that he should be a symbol of integrity, unity, and love.

However, he claimed that Ruto's tone and the people he surrounds himself with don't demonstrate the above.

"What pains me a lot is the kind of people Kenyans elect to represent them. The President should be a symbol of integrity, unity and love," Mwangi added.
