Appellate court to deliver ruling on Finance Act

The Court of Appeal will render its decision on whether it will set aside an order suspending the implementation of the Finance Act, 2023.

Justice Mohamed Warsame, Kathurima M'Inoti and Hello Omondi set the date after Treasury CS Njuguna Ndungu said the suspension of the Act is affecting government operations.

Murkomen given 30 days to avail reports of air accidents

MPs have now petitioned the government to make public reports of all air accidents that have happened in the country in the last 30 years.

Of concern to the legislators are those involving prominent leaders whose reports have never been released several years since the investigations were completed.

Obado case

At the High Court, the murder case facing former Migori Governor Okoth Obado and two others proceeds today.

The case has been going on for the last nine days.

On Thursday, parties were in court as late as 7 pm with the defence team partially cross-examining the 38th prosecution witness.

Ruto to award  Pemba Community with Citizenship 

President William Ruto will on Friday issue the Pemba community with citizenship.

In a gazette notice dated January 30, Ruto directed that all bodies and authorities in the country recognise the Pemba community as an ethnic group in Kenya.

Ruto said he decided after considering a petition filed in 2020 and a 2021 parliamentary report, recommending the recognition.

Nyumba Kumi to assist state in weeding out quack pharmacists

Pharmacy and Poisons Board has called for the use of nyumba kumi to weed out quack pharmacists and outlets endangering the lives of Kenyans.

This will involve the public reporting any pharmacy outlet within their vicinity that they suspect is operating illegally or by an unqualified person
