Nyali MP Mohamed Ali has claimed that the Opposition spent Sh250 million in organizing the recent anti-government protests.
Speaking at Miritini in Mombasa on Saturday, Ali claimed it was underwhelming that after spending so much, the Opposition on Friday donated only Sh5 million to those who were injured or killed during the demonstrations.
"They used Sh250 million to organise the demonstrations," the MP claimed.
The MP claimed he knows that was the amount spent.
"Bado mimi ni jicho pevu, hiyo ndio pesa walitumia," the MP claimed.
Ali spoke during the launch of Toyota Fortuner local assembly line in Miritini, Mombasa county where President William Ruto was the guest of honour.
Azimio on Tuesday called off their planned mass protests scheduled for Wednesday and said they would instead hold vigils and lay flowers in honour of victims of police brutality.
During an interdenominational requiem mass for victims on Friday at the SKM centre in Nairobi, the leaders donated over Sh4 million for the victims who were injured during the protests and for the kin of those who lost their lives.
