A Section of Nairobi MCA  has urged the DCI officer to be professional in the ongoing probe at City Hall.

Led by Minority Chief Whip Mark Mugambi and Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, the MCAs on Thursday termed the investigations as ‘hot air’ and politically instigated.

MCA Mugambi asked the DCI  to stop intimidating the County Government employees as they visit their offices.

"We are not here to interfere with the DCI investigations. Our concern is the way they conduct themselves. The era of intimidation is not with us and DCI must have a proper way of conducting their investigations,” he said.

“We want them to have decorum and do summons to those they think might be of help during their investigation process but intimidation is a big No,” Mugambi added.

Kileleshwa MCA called on President William Ruto to put his officers to order.

“Kindly end this witch-hunt. Call the head of investigations to order and let these employees work in peace. You have the Office of the Attorney General, EACC and DCI units able to carry out their duties,” he said.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers have been at city hall as the probe linked to payments made to a number of firms intensifies.

DCI said the Nairobi County government is alleged to have fraudulently made payments to nine companies yet no services were rendered.

On Wednesday, the DCI carted away crucial documents at City Hall.

The officers who have been camping at City Hall since Monday, also questioned some clerks at the legal and finance departments as part of the investigation.
