HR exams body releases June 2023 exams, launches new results portal

1,404 candidates were examined under the Old and the Revised CHRP Curriculum.

The Human Resource Management Professionals Examinations Board (HRMPEB) on Friday released results for its June 2023 examinations.

The release of the results was held at a hotel in Nairobi and graced by HRMPEB CEO Kanisa Nicholas, HRMPEB board chair Sharon Kisire and Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Executive Director Quresha Abdullahi.

Quresha represented the chief guest of the event, Dalmas Odero who is the IHRM national chairman.

While releasing the results, HRMPEB board chair Kisire acknowledged that the Revised CHRP Program has successfully hit the ground and is progressively attracting large numbers of candidatures on its second series of administration.

"With the implementation of the Private Candidature Program, we expect the enrolment to double as this provides a more flexible,  learner pathway in recognition that learning can also take place outside a formal classroom," Kisire said.

CEO Kanisa said the HRMPEB  is set to register and examine its first batch of Private candidates, CBET Diploma, and Certificate in HRM in the November 2023 examination series.

"Private candidature aims to support the Board, build a workable private candidature framework, and at the same time offer Candidates who wish to achieve HRMPEB’s CHRP Qualification, an option to independently study on their own, meet syllabi requirements, and be examined and certified as CHRP’s conveniently and affordably," he said.

The June 2023 Series examinations were administered in seven centres across the country between Wednesday, June 14,  2023, and   Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

In total, 1,404 candidates were examined under the Old and the Revised CHRP Curriculum.

This was an increase of 95 (7.25 percent) of the total candidature as compared to November 2022 series.

Male candidates were 273 (19.4 percent) while female candidates were 1131(80.6 percent). 

1049 candidates sat for examinations under the Old CHRP Curriculum in  CHRP Part I (level 1 and 2), CHRP Part II (level 3 and 4) and CHRP Part III (level 5 and 6).

The male candidates were 204 (19.44 percent) while female candidates were 845 (80.56 percent).

In CHRP Part I, Human Resource Administration had the highest Mean Score of 71.01, in CHRP Part II, Learning and Development had a Mean Score of 66.51 and in CHRP Part III, Human Resource Research Project had a Mean Mark of 66.74

On the flipside regarding CHRP Part I, Introduction to Financial Accounting had the Lowest Mean of 49.98, in CHRP Part II, Organization Change and Development had a Mean Score of 51.47 and in CHRP Part III, Strategic Human Resource Management had a Mean Mark of 51.21

On average, in the old curriculum, 89.67 percent of the total candidates who sat for the papers satisfied the Board and passed the Exams. 10.3 percent of the total candidates did not make it to the pass mark.

New Curriculum

355 candidates sat for examinations under the Revised Curriculum in CHRP Part I (Sections 1 and 2), CHRP Part II (Sections 3 and 4) and CHRP Part III (Sections 5 and 6).

In CHRP Part I, under the revised curriculum, Human Resource Management had the highest Mean Score of 65.21, in CHRP Part II, Employee Relations and Labour Laws had a Mean Score of 65.65 and in CHRP Part III, Human Resource Consultancy and Advisory, a new industry responsive subject had a Mean Mark of 71.89.

On the flipside CHRP Part I, Accounting and Financial Management had the Lowest Mean of 50.35, in CHRP Part II, Compensation and Reward Management had a Mean Score of 53.47 and in CHRP Part III, Industry-Based Project had a Mean Mark of 47.75

In the revised curriculum, 81.2% of the total candidates who sat for the papers satisfied the Board and passed the exams while 18.8% did not make it to the pass mark.

On average, in the two curriculums examined, the old and new curriculum, 85.4 per cent of the total candidates who sat for the papers satisfied the Board and passed the exams while 14.6  percent did not make it to the pass mark.

Candidates who took part in the exams can now access their results in the newly launched online portal.

HRMPEB has had 12 CHRP results released since its inception and results have been released to students manually where they pick their result slips from the Board.

The launch of the new portal marks a new era in its results service delivery.
