Eldas MP Aden Keynan has claimed that bad politics have contributed to Kenya's struggles as a nation.
On Tuesday, he explained that leaders have resulted in politicking since the early 1990s which has had a negative effect on the country's economy.
"We have been politicking at the expense of innovation, development, and economic growth since 1991, and it's unfortunate we were once a hub, but are now a struggling nation as a result of bad politics," Keynan said during an interview on Citizen Tv.
Going further, the Jubilee MP called out his counterparts from both Azimio la Umoja and Kenya Kwanza coalitions over hyping handshake talks.
Keynan stated that the talks are neither here nor there as both coalition heads have rubbished the claims.
"Both President Ruto and Raila Odinga have publicly declared there’s no handshake, this matter should be put to rest."
On Sunday, Ruto put to rest matters of a possible handshake between him and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
He instead said they will meet in the 2027 general elections.
"My friends, I was even asking some of these leaders, do I look like someone who would waste Kenyans that voted early in the morning and go sit with someone under a tree and shake hands?" Ruto posed.
"That will not happen. Lets us meet in 2027, I will be waiting at the ballot box," he added.
Raila on the other end also re-affirmed neither he nor the other Azimio co-principals wanted such a deal with Ruto.
"Sisi hatujauliza na hatutauliza mambo ya handshake. Handshake ni porojo yao. Hatutaki (We have not asked for a Handshake and we will not ask for it. Handshake claims are propaganda. We don't want)," he said last month.
