Raila attends burial of anti-Ruto protests victims in Vihiga

The two died in Kisumu during the anti-government protests.

Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga on Saturday led a group of Azimio leaders in mourning two victims of anti-government protests in Vihiga County.

Brian Akhala and William Amulele are said to be victims of alleged police brutality during the protests.

ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya, Roots party leader George Wajackoyah and DAP party leader Eugene Wamalwa also joined the Azimio leader.

Other leaders who join the family include Vihiga governor Wilber Ottichilo and Senator Godfrey Osotsi, MPs Lilian Gogo, Peter Kaluma, and Millie Odhiambo among others.

Vihiga senator in his address faulted Police IG Japhet Koome for the death saying he should face the full wrath of the law.

"Currently the IG running up and down to ensure that Raila Odinga doesn't file the case against him," Osotsi claimed.

He went on to attack the Kenya Kwanza government accusing it of intimidating Azimio leaders.

He maintained that Vihiga county will remain an Azimio zone.

His statements were echoed by Vihiga governor Wilber Ottichilo  who demanded justice for the two victims.

"What we want is justice for our kids no more no less," Ottichilo said.
