Defense counsels representing Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi are this morning expected to cross-examine the investigating officer who handled their client's forged academic certificates case.

Derrick Kaisha gave his evidence in court in June this year confirming that Sudi forged his papers so that he could secure the nomination to vie for the parliamentary seat in the 2013 General Elections.

He said from the evidence they gathered, Sudi did not sit for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education at Highway Secondary nor did he study at KIMs where he claims to have attained a Diploma in Business Management.

The defense is to cross-examine him on this and other more.

'Mathee wa Ngara' expected in court today over alleged drug trafficking

A businesswoman code-named Mathee Wa Ngara is expected in court today over alleged drug trafficking and possession charges.

She was arrested on Monday evening.

Through Advocate Shanice Maingi Nancy Kigunzu had claimed that investigative agencies have launched a major hunt to unfairly arrest and charge her on trumped-up charges.

She claims she is being used as a scapegoat in the matter.

Police raided a known drug den in the Kariowa slums Ngara area, Nairobi barely a week ago, where they hoped to get her but ended up arresting a woman who has been described as a wrong suspect.

The place is popularly known as 'Kwa Mathe' (mum’s place) because of its popularity in terms of the supply of various narcotics and psychotropic substances.

Others call it 'Kwa Mathe wa Ngara'.

'Kwa Mathe wa Ngara' is a known place, and is searchable online, and unlike other spots called 'Kwa Mathe', especially in informal settlements, the Ngara 'Mathe' appears to have more power, controls a larger swathe of the population, has more widespread influence.

Five years ago, at the 'Kwa Mathe' slums, men were filmed busy rolling marijuana blunts and revealing that, even little school-going boys were her clients
