Woman accused of stabbing husband to death detained

A woman who allegedly attacked her husband and stabbed him to death has been detained for 14 days to allow detectives to continue with their investigations.

Violet Amagove was detained by Kibera Senior Resident Magistrate William Tulel after police Constable Enock Tirop filed a miscellaneous application in court.

The two allegedly disagreed over some issues before the said attack occured. It was there that she allegedly picked up a Kitchen Knife and stabbed him to death.

According to Tirop, the incident happened in the Silanga area in Kibera Sub-county within Nairobi County.

He told the court that a report of commotion was reported in the Silanga area in Kibera and when the visited the site, they found the suspect being subjected to mob injustices.

"We found her being subjected to mob injustices, we rescued her and upon inquiry learned that the suspect, for known reasons, stabbed Amos Etole killing her on the spot," he told the court.

He said that the police managed to take the suspect to Mbagathi Hospital where she was treated after she sustained injuries from the mob.

He told the court that 14 more days were required for the police to complete their investigations and record statements from key witnesses.
