Prime Cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi has told off the Azimio la Umoja brigade that IEBC commissioners don't vote and neither do they determine the person who leads the country.

His remarks come amid a push by the Opposition side for the reconstitution of the IEBC and audit of the 2022 presidential poll results during the renewed bipartisan talks.

Mudavadi said it's voters who determine their leaders on the ballot and they did so a year ago.

"Elections ended a year ago and it's time to focus on development and serve our people as required," Mudavadi said.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary was speaking in Hamisi subcounty in Vihiga county where he had attended a funeral service of the late Rajab Mwondi, the former Cotu chairman.

Mudavadi said it's time Azimio sat down and started preparing for the 2027 general elections.

"Azimio should focus on 2027 and stop pushing us beyond the wall," he said.

"If you push us beyond the wall, we shall open up and speak on why former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati was in danger during the election time," he said.

On corruption matters, Mudavadi said the government will not give space to corrupt individuals citing it as the major reason Kenya's economy was doing poorly.
