Malala receives Ex-Bungoma governor Wangamati to UDA

Wangamati also affirmed support for President Ruto’s developments in Bungoma.

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General (SG) has officially received former Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati in the party.

Malala is also mulling for the Kenya Kwanza affiliate parties of Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya to fold and remain with the ruling party UDA.

“We have parties in the Kenya Kwanza coalition that cannot produce the President, we shall be lying to one another that parties like ANC or Ford Kenta can produce the Kenyan president,” Malala said.

Wangamati served Bungoma as the governor between 2017 and 2022.

In 2022, he vied for the same position on former CS Eugene Wamalwa’s party DAP-K but he was defeated by the current governor Kenneth Lusaka of Ford Kenya.

Addressing the UDA party delegates at his Makunga home in Kakamega on Sunday, Malala said that UDA party influence in the Western region has received a major boost after former Bungoma governor decamped DAP-K for President Ruto’s UDA party.

“I’m excited to join the UDA party, it is a visionary party that has the best interests of the Mulembe nation at heart,” Wangamati stated.

Wangamati also affirmed support for President Ruto’s developments in Bungoma and the region at large.

Also present were Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama, and Bungoma County UDA MCAs among others.
