Kenyan government revokes Worldcoin licence

Tools for Humanity, a tech company behind the Worldcoin project has confirmed the revocation of its licence in Kenya.

The company's head of legal Thomas Scott said they received the communication on the cancellation Tuesday.

"Yes, we can confirm that the licence has been revoked," said Scott.

He was responding to a question by Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku.

Ruku wanted to know if the company was aware that the licence had been revoked.

Scott was appearing before the National Assembly’s Ad hoc inquiring into the crypto project alongside the Company's CEO Alex Blania.

The operating license was issued by the office of the Data Commissioner.

In his submission, Blania pleaded with the MPs to make a finding that it did not engage in any wrongdoing.
