Kamukunji MP Yussuf Hassan has showered President William Ruto with praises for his role in the ongoing Africa climate summit.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Jubilee MP said Ruto embodies the moral compass guiding Africa in its relentless quest for fairness and justice for its citizens.

Hassan said he was blown away by Ruto's impassioned and eloquent speech which he said served as a powerful testament to his unwavering dedication to these principles.

"Being present at today's session, I couldn't help but admire the president's remarkable discipline, boundless energy, and unwavering commitment," Hassan said.

The MP stated not only did the President chair all the sessions from morning through lunch but also stayed to oversee the entire summit process until its conclusion.

"President Ruto is now the foremost leader and trailblazer in Africa's pursuit of climate action, climate justice, and a fairer, more equitable global system," Hassan said.

He highlighted that Ruto embodied the moral compass guiding Africa in its relentless quest for fairness and justice for its citizens.

The legislator noted that the impressive presence of numerous Heads of State, government officials, ministers, top diplomats, and dignitaries from both Africa and around the world underscored President Ruto's expanding diplomatic influence and global prominence.

MP Hassan further said that unquestionably, President Ruto holds an unrivaled position of authority among African leaders, particularly in addressing critical issues such as climate change, climate action, and climate justice.

Former US Secretary of State John Kerry also praised President Ruto for his admirable leadership.

While giving his speech at the Climate Change Summit on Tuesday, John Kerry said that Ruto's leadership can be felt.

"I want you to know that as I listened and as you listened, I could feel this room, something is happening, this is different. I feel that this is different," he said.

"Mr. President (President William Ruto) I will just say to you, your leadership is palpable, you can feel it," Kerry added.

The summit being hosted by Ruto is pushing for new financing and custom-made solutions to climate change for the African continent and the world.

Among key issues that are being discussed at the forum are how to tackle the increased exposure of emitters, investing in nature and biodiversity, solutions to climate change, and climate change financing for Africa.
