NSE's Kittony shortlisted for World Chamber Federation chair post

If successful, he will be the first business leader from the continent to ascend to the position.

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) has added the Chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Kiprono Kittony to the World Chamber Federation chairman's post.

In a statement on Thursday, KNCCI said that Kittony is widely accredited with the revival of the KNCCI.

"We are pleased to announce the inclusion of the former KNCCI President on the final shortlist for the prestigious position of Chairperson - World Chamber Federation, Kiprono Kittony," the statement read.

Kittony said he is delighted to offer his candidature for the position of World Chamber Federation Chair.

"If successful, this will be a great opportunity to attract investors to Kenya and drive growth in the value and volume of our exports," he said in a statement.

The World Chamber Federation said in a statement it has received applications from six highly qualified individuals for the post.

They include Jeanne-Pierre Antelo of Bolivia, A.K Azad of Bangladesh, Rifat Hisarcikloglu of Turkiye, Toki Mabogunje of Nigeria and Rim Siam of Egypt.

"The WFC Chair Selection Committee is now examining all candidates and we will keep you informed of the next steps in the selection process," WFC Director Jullian Kassum said in a statement.

Kittony is a well-known business leader, the current Chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange and the former Vice Chair of the World Chamber Federation, among other roles.
