Arati handed plum job as ODM announces leadership changes

Kisii Governor Simba Arati has been handed a plum position within the ODM hierarchy following leadership changes announced by the party.

The changes have been effected by the party's National Executive Council effectively replacing six former officials.

"The following are the changes made to the membership of the party’s NEC. This follows resignations/defections by the former holders of the positions," ODM said.

In the changes, Arati will become the new National deputy chairperson of the party, replacing former Kisii county Woman representative Janet Ong'era who defected to UDA.

Catherine Omanyo will become the new deputy secretary general, replacing former Busia Woman representative Florence Mutua.

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi will now become the deputy organising secretary, replacing Zulekha Hassan.

Fatuma Masito will take over as the deputy National Treasurer replacing Ogla Karani.

In additional changes announced, Migori Senator Eddie Oketch becomes the new secretary for Humanitarian and Disaster Management affairs for the party, a position previously held by Bob Njagi.

Elsie Muhanda will also replace Justus Kizito as the secretary for security.
