The Kenya Defence Forces has announced the Nationwide Recruitment Exercise has come to an end.
The exercise which commenced on August 28, 2023, saw Kenyans from across the country take part.
In a statement on Friday, the Vice Chief of Defence Forces Lt Gen JM Mwangi said KDF Recruiting teams traversed 374 recruitment centres across 47 counties.
He said they have successfully recruited qualified Kenyans under the categories of General Service Officer Cadets, Graduate General Service Officer Cadets and General Duty Recruits.
"We wish to thank all the youth who turned up for the recruitment drive your presence was a strong demonstration of your patriotism and desire to serve our great Republic," he said.
"The Ministry of Defence congratulates all those who were successful and welcomes you to participate in the collective delivery of KDF's constitutional mandate."
He lauded those who were not successful for courage and competitive spirit and urged them to remain steadfast in their quest for opportunities.
Lt Gen Mwangi thanked security agencies including different security agencies, ethics and anti-corruption bodies, the media and members of the public for their contribution.
He added that successful candidates shortlisted for the categories of Specialist Officer Cadets and Artisans or Tradesmen and Women will be notified through the official Ministry of Defence Website and mainstream media between September 17 and 24 2023.
He further added that those eligible for the ex-National Youth Service category are to report to Embakasi Garrison, Nairobi County on September 18, 2023 for interviews.
All potential candidates for the Defence Forces Constables category are to report to Kahawa Garisson, Nairobi for interviews on November 27, 2023.
