Tourism CS Peninah Malonza was on Friday evening awarded the 2023 Africa Tourism Woman of the Year Award at the Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA) gala dinner, at a hotel in Nairobi.
Malonza was feted in a colourful event that was grazed by the second lady, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua.
Environment CS Soipan Tuya was present in the event that took place at Radisson Blue.
“Receiving this nomination is unbelievably humbling and a joyous moment in my career path. It is a statement of the collective efforts of so many dedicated individuals who have tirelessly worked towards the betterment of our tourism industry. I am both honoured and privileged to be recognized in this esteemed capacity,” the excited Malonza said.
Kenya Wildlife Service Director General Erustus Kanga, Board Chair Walter Koipaton, and National Land Commission CEO Kabale Tache, attended the award ceremony.
During the event, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) bagged three awards.
These include; Environmental Agency of the Year 2023 and Public Sector Team of the Year - NEMA Management Team-Bronze.
NEMA Director General, Mamo Mamo, was feted as the "Environment CEO of the year 2023."
The fourth annual award ceremony took place under the theme: ‘Towards a digital, Green and Resilient Economy’ The role of public sector.
