Health stakeholder engagement

Medical Services Principal Secretary  Harry Kimutai to open a stakeholder engagement forum on the four health bills recently approved by the Cabinet.

The four bills seek to underpin the provision of primary health care which is a key driver of UHC.

The proposed laws under consideration are the Primary Health Care Bill, Social Health Insurance Bill, Digital Health Bill and Facility Improvement Financing Bill.

Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula back in court

Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula will be back in court today as the hearing of a case in which he's charged with theft of Sh122 million from the Government Advertising Agency resumes.

Savula is charged alongside former ICT PS Sammy Itemere for stealing the cash that was meant for paying pending bills to advertisers.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has left for Colombia on an official visit that will mostly focus on marketing Kenyan Coffee before heading to Cuba for the Group of 77 and China (G77) Summit.

Dozens killed in attack on Khartoum market

At least 35 people have been killed after a crowded market in Sudan's capital was hit with "explosive weapons", a medical charity says.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) described it as "carnage", saying that more than 60 people had also been wounded in the attack.

Local residents say a military aircraft bombarded the Qouro market in southern Khartoum.
