I'm excited! Charles Keter says after Ruto's appointment

Former Energy CS Charles Keter is all smiles after landing a new role in government on Thursday following his appointment as President William Ruto's new advisor.

Keter will serve as Ruto's advisor on Great Lakes Region Affairs. 

"With humility, I wish to express my gratitude to H.E. the President, Dr. William Ruto for appointing me as his Advisor on Great Lakes Region Affairs. I am deeply honoured and grateful for the trust and confidence that he has placed in me by appointing me to this role," he said.

"I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to contribute to the development, prosperity, and stability of the Great Lakes Region under his visionary leadership."

Keter has previously served as MP and Senator in Kericho County.

Keter resigned from cabinet in 2022 to vie for Kericho governor seat but he lost in the UDA nominations to Eric Mutai, who is now the governor.

Kenyans and leaders sent him good thoughts and encouragement as he takes up the role.

Former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando said "Congratulations my friend and former colleague. You're a good man."

TKprotich said "Congratulations".

"Let your actions bring glory to the people of Kenya. Let action on the ground speak," Henry Kabogo said.
